You would think I might be on top of the gifting bit since we have access to resources like Pinterest with the most crafty of all ideas. To be honest, I’m just not a crafty person. However, if it involves the kitchen… I’m there! Here is one of my favorite gifts to give. Homemade, pretty & tasty… straight from the heart of the kitchen!
Spiced Tea Mix – Friendship Tea
2 c. Tang powder
2 c. granulated sugar
1 envelop instant lemonade mix
1/2 c. instant tea
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
Put all dry ingredients in a bowl and stir until thoroughly combined. If you plan to keep it for yourself, store it in an airtight container. Mix 2 teaspoonfuls per cup of hot water. Stir until dissolved.
Presentation ideas for gifting!
Mason Jar – Use smaller Mason jars with a tight fitting lid. Decorate the jar. Add a hang tag with the preparation instructions.
Pretty mug – Fill “treat-sized” resealable bags, add a label with instructions on how to prepare it for that size mug (i.e. if you have a large mug you’ll want to put 4 teaspoons of the mix into the baggie and suggest 2 cups of hot water.) Hang a bow on the mug and tuck a card in too! This is my favorite idea because you can select a mug based on the recipient’s personality or hobbies. Or perhaps a beautiful little tea cup!
Use your best penmanship to write a poem on a pretty piece of paper.
A little cup of friendship is in this bag of tea, when you sit and sip it, think of warm thoughts from me!
A cup of tea warms the soul like a good friend.
